A good session for a tea brek

Worth reading........
A Primary three teacher was having trouble with one of her students little johnny .The teacher asked, "johnny, what is your problem?"

johnny answered, "I'm too smart for Primary three. My sister is in Primary
six and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in Primary six
too!"

The Teacher had enough. She took the johnny to the Head
master's office.
..
...

While the johnny waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the Headmaster what the situation was. The Headmaster told the teacher
he would give the johnny a test and if he failed to answer any of his
questions he was to go back to Primary three and behave.

She agreed.

Johnny was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.

Headmaster: "What is 3 x 3?"

johnny: "9".

Headmaster: "What is 6 x 6?"

johnny: "36".

And so it went with every question the Headmaster thought a Primary three pupil should know. The Headmaster looked at the teacher and told
her, "I think the johnny can go to Primary six."

The teacher said to the Headmaster, "I have some of my own questions. Can I ask him?" The Headmaster and the johnny both agreed.

The teacher asked, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?

johnny, after a moment "Legs."

Teacher: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"

johnny: "Pockets."

Teacher: What starts with a C and ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin whitish liquid?

johnny: "Coconut"

Teacher: What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?

The Headmaster's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, the johnny was taking charge.

johnny: "Bubblegum"

Teacher: What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?

The Headmaster's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer...

johnny: "Shake hands"

Teacher: Now I will ask some "Who am I" sort of questions, okay?

johnny: "Yep!"

Teacher: You stick your poles inside me. You tie me down to get me up. I get wet before you do.

johnny: "Tent"

Teacher: A finger goes in me. You fiddle with me when you're bored. The best man always has me first.

The Headmaster was looking restless, a bit tensed.

johnny: "Wedding Ring"

Teacher: I come in many sizes. When I'm not well, I drip. When you blow me, you feel good.

johnny: "Nose"

Teacher: I have a stiff shaft. My tip penetrates. I come with a quiver.

johnny: "Arrow."

Teacher: What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' that means lot of heat and excitement?

johnny: "Fire-truck"

Teacher: What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' & if you don't get it you have to use your hand.

johnny: "Fork"

Teacher: What is it that all men have, it's longer in some men than in others, the Pope doesn't use his and a man gives it to his wife
after they're married?

johnny: "Surname"

Teacher: What part of the man has no bone but has muscles, has lots of veins, like pumping, & is responsible for making love?

johnny: "HEART"

The Headmaster breathed a sigh of relief and said to the teacher,

"Send johnny to College, I got the last ten questions wrong myself!"

Passing Judgement Onto OThers

"Rise up and leave my Lord's seat of greatness, who are you to know who's righteous among your neighbors? Did God not say we leave all the judgement to him? Don't you know while you judge that you are also under his judgement?"

How many times are we hasty to pass verdicts on other people especially those we don't love so much? Today I write to you all brothers and sisters, give a good prayer for all you see friends and enemies because only God knows your course. That's my take on today's beautiful day, it's 2nd of September 2012. Enjoy yourself.

Below are just a few of verses on judgement compiled by: http://www.openbible.info/topics/judging_others

Ephesians 4:29     Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 7:1-5
Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

John 7:24    Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

James 4:12   There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

Romans 2:1-3    Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

BUSINESS NAME REGISTERATION IN KENYA

By Masta Media Invests----- (A taxpayer in Kirinyaga County)
Business Names are more commonly referred to as Sole Proprietor, BN2, or Partnerships, and is registered under the Business Names Act.
1. NAME SEARCH –The proposed business name must be reserved pending (30 days) registration.  Application for reservation should be made in writing and accompanied with the prescribed fee.

2. FORM BN 2 - Once a name is approved the applicant(s) should complete a statement of particulars form (BN 2) obtainable from the Registry

3 Certificate of registration BN 3 is processed thereafter.

Any change in particulars of a registered business should be notified to the Registrar on the prescribed form i.e. Notice of change form - BN4 and in case
of cessation, Notice of Cessation Form.

A Business Name registration will take at least 5 days. To register a business name in Kenya is compiled and documented under Business Names Act (Cap 499 Laws of Kenya) It is generally a smooth and simple process except for the fact that you have to travel to Nairobi Sheria House for the services. There are few merchants who try to help those not willing to travel by changing for the service on top of the normal official charges.
To register a business name:
1.       Choose or select one or more names you would like to submit for the search in the Records. (Selecting more than one name helps for security if the preferred name is not available for registration.)
2.      Write a short printed letter addressed to the Registrar General requesting that your names be searched and confirmed available for registration. This is called the search; it requires you to submit the letter to Sheria house with 100 Kshs for each name chosen to search. You get a blue receipt for the same.
3.      You will be required to wait at least three days for the search results. Then head back and get your results and if successful you’ll receive a BN2 form to fill for your business particulars.
4.      Fill out Form BN/2 completely and get a Commissioner of Oaths sign on the back for full filling. If you are registering a sole proprietorship, the part where it says “Particulars of proprietor or partners” will bear only one name, otherwise you can put in up to 20 partners (for a partnership).
5.      Go back to Sheria House and hand in your completed Form BN/2. You will need to pay Kshs 800/-. After a week or so, you will go back to Sheria House to collect your business registration certificate.
6.      You have just completed registering your new business and ready for the next part now. Earning from it!!!
The process adds up to 900 Kshs Government levy plus advocate stamp cost.
On Partnerships
The process of registering a sole-proprietorship and partnership is the same; you go back at Sheria house.
A partnership has some more details; it is recommended that one also registers a partnership deed that clearly defines rights, duties and obligations of all partners.
A partnership deed once drawn up is supposed to be registered as a public document at the Ministry of Lands.
Hope this is useful! Leave us your collections, comments, questions or additions.

STARTING A BUSINESS IN KIRINYAGA COUNTY

By Masta Media Invests----- (A taxpayer in Kirinyaga County)
Considerable years ago, it was so hard to start a business or a company on your own even with all the capital you need. It was both taunting and scary process to go through so everyone felt good in the comfort of another person (read brokers) who can do it for you at a fee, copious fee. I lived among these people and many of them decided to serve without identity or brand names. Gone are the time we never cared to advertise , and we only aimed at that person who passes by and sees your office or shop, this only counted by the number of people who can pass the word of mouth.
In today’s age there is both necessity and means to advertise, and this starts after you register with the necessary authority. I will tell you though I was not born until Kenya had recovered fully from the 1984 famine, way after; I have managed to listen to enough stories and advice to conclude that we must accept the information age and embrace it for our future survival.
I am bitter because even the current advancement in technology, intelligence and information media an in Kenyan context a new Constitution the public information has not yet been made public. I will air anyone’s views if I write that if people got a way to access the full, accurate and detailed information about these public service departments  so much confusion, disillusionment and corruption would be a past reference.
Most of the information is hidden in dusty 19th Century files while ironically it’s meant for the common mwananchi to know and use not for the people in hose offices to keep. They should be using those files and books to educate the common Kenyan on those fronts.
The main aim of these is a brief overview of how you can register your new business under the requirements of the law Business Names Act (Cap 499 Laws of Kenya). We have developed so much technologically that the information flow can be availed in the comfort of our phones, qhy isn’t it happening? I’ll try to make it happen here:-
Before I rant and rave more I’ll highlight a few procedures which I happen to know, this will be:
1.      Business Name registrations in Kenya
2.      Company Registration in  Kenya
3.      Business Permits for a small Business
4.      Adopting Rapidly the information age
5.      Kirinyaga County and technology
6.      Youth’s role I Kirinyaga County Development.
Follow up my complete details on the process here.

A city with no traffic signs

Dennis Githinji Mwaniki

Who in Kenya hasn’t faced the mayhem of being caught up in the cities road madness? My guess is everyone reading this piece has. I know of myriad problems one can associate with Kenyan traffic, so I’ll talk discriminatively of what you haven’t considered as a solution to solve one problem in particular- safety. I mean everything from over speeding, overtaking, competition for space, and independent decisions-making.
You probably don’t know who Hans Monderman is, or more to the point, was; he died of prostate cancer in January 7th 2008 aged 62. He was a Dutch civil engineer, a specialist in road traffic designing.
In his time as a Dutch road traffic engineer and innovator he managed to place his name in more than a few people’s mouths for radically challenging the criteria by which solutions for streets designs are evaluated. His work compelled transportation planners and highway engineers to look afresh at the way people and technology relate to each other.
He is particularly known for his “Shared Space” design approach, also known as designing for negotiation or shared streets. Monderman found that the efficiency an safety of urban streets improved when the streets and surrounding public space was redesigned to encourage each person to negotiate their movement directly with others. Shared space designs typically call for removing regulatory traffic control features, and replacing intersections with roundabouts.
Anyone who has being in  Kenya long enough can relate that to;  imagining Nairobi without kerbs, lane markings, signs and lights and traffic police. I like the sound of that but just figure it out in your head and let me know any way it work.
At the centre of Monderman’s philosophy about traffic was a desire to force drivers to take responsibility for their actions, to make us drive as if we walking down the streets, not driving. To achieve this, go ahead and remove all the traditional road signs and markings and replacing them with none at all.
Doing this creates a ‘shared space’ in which everyone- old ladies with walking sticks, Ferrari drivers, schoolchildren , hairdressers- is on an equal footing. Lets be clear on that first:- if you are with me still you’ll figure that this means no one has the legal or physical right of way, everyone ends up behaving more responsibly- driving more slowly, looking at other people rather than just other cars, sharing the space available in a civilized manner.
Surprised? Wait, there is more! I know what you thinking, “ that was so nuts of him, it’s impossible,”  and all that; I’ll tell you this wasn’t merely an idea. Monderman’s first experiment in shared space traffic took place more than 20 years ago in a village in Holland, where the residents had become fed up with it being used as a daily thoroughfare for 6000 speeding cars. Within a fortnight of the signs and markings being removed, speeds had dropped by more than half.
Since then, this method of traffic calming has become increasingly popular and is genuinely beginning to make a difference. You’ll be surprised that more than seven countries in Europe have already signed up at government level to undertake in the endeavor-shared space road design. On initial inspection this intersections are always in anarchic mess but within weeks the speeds reduce drastically and the number of accidents always end up vanishing from these scenes.
A few places with this kind of design implemented are:-
v  In Denmark, the town of Christianfield stripped the traffic signs and signals from its major intersection and cut the number of serious or fatal accidents a year from three to zero.
v   In England, towns in Suffolk and Wiltshire have removed lane lines from secondary roads in an effort to slow traffic - experts call it "psychological traffic calming."
v   A dozen other towns in the UK are looking to do the same. A study of center-line removal in Wiltshire, conducted by the Transport Research Laboratory, a UK transportation consultancy, found that drivers with no center line to guide them drove more safely and had a 35 percent decrease in the number of accidents.
This man literally disliked traffic signs, yes. He could put up with the well-placed speed limit placard or a dangerous curve warning on a major highway, but Monderman considered most signs to be not only annoying but downright dangerous. To him, they were an admission of failure, a sign - literally - that a road designer somewhere hasn't done his job. "The trouble with traffic engineers is that when there's a problem with a road, they always try to add something," Monderman says. "To my mind, it's much better to remove things."

A picture of Hans Monderman.
I write this with Kenya in mind because of the lifes we are loosing on our roads these days. Now, can our Kenyan drivers heed to the call of responsibility required in this method of traffic calming? Would they by any chance watch the other and scrap the unending tread of,  “me first” on our roads? Will a Kenyan driver wait and watch the pedestrian on the road as an equal user?
My answer is yes; I look at it as a method that gives every humane driver a no choice kind of a situation and thus the resulting smooth, slow and safe traffic. No one will watch the lifeless signs and lights to decide what to do on the road; rather you will be forced to watch closely on each other for a safe drive. A motorist will look upon a motor-cyclist and a cyclist, and a cyclist will look upon the pedestrian and in the end everyone looks on the safety of the other.
By anyone’s analysis of the same, we are able to predict a safe traffic with very few accidents. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a seven, so 70% pass.
It’s plainly simple, my remaining three points go to the following inevitable:-
1.      Machine failure
2.      The hard-core arrogant drivers on our roads.
3.      The rude Kenyan pedestrians trying to test the patience of motorists.
My verdict is, it can work let’s try it out on our Kenyan roads or what…..!?

Missed Answers to our Prayers

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.  Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called  him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box.  Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he raised his voice to his father and said "With all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to  him.  He had not seen him since that graduation day.  Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.  He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.  With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.  And as he did, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.  It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss Spirit's blessings and answers to our prayers because they do not arrive exactly as we have expected?

who says God doesn't exist!!!!??????

This is one of the best explanations of why God allowspain and suffering that I have seen...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
...
They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.

He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because

if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!

That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.

That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Days of fills and loss

If ever my heart fails to detect your loss,
my eyes will not sail in the sea where you are boss,
i have lived in this sunlit expanse in one toss,
and my priorities are still in order

when i fell in this trap that you set
i knew you are a devil I never met
because i found myself being a pet
in a world where all hazard I've let

the sweet kiss of sun and earth lingers
and here i bask in my heart's winters
my dreams were once filled with winners
but my mornings are full of all bitters

let my fans circle through this winds
to fill my room with enough tides
this shows my days will be of finds
if at all my sunrise came those same sides

Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson

  Manager, Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson, an eminent football manager, was born to Alexander and Elizabeth on December 31, 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland. He married Cathy and they have three sons; Mark and twins, Darren and Jason. Of his sons, only Darren has followed his father’s profession and is the manager of the Peterborough United FC.

He managed the Scotland national football team for a brief period in 1986 before he moved to the Aberdeen Football Club.

During his stay at St.Mirren, Sir Alex Ferguson coached the team and spotted young talents like Billy Stark, Tony Fitzpatrick, Lex Richardson, Frank McGarvey, Bobby Reid and Peter Weir.

In June 1978, when he joined the Aberdeen Football Club (FC), he was younger than a few senior players of the team. Being a strict disciplinarian with brilliant managerial skills, he helped the Dons’ to become the runner-up of the Scottish League Cup in 2 seasons, 1978-80, and clinch the Scottish Premier Division title (1979-80). The outstanding team-building talent of Sir Alex Ferguson helped the Dons’ team to take the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Cup Winners’ Cup in 1982-83 and secure the UEFA Super Cup in 1983-84. With his guidance, the Aberdeen FC bagged the Scottish Football Association (SFA) Cup for 3 consecutive seasons, 1981-84 and also during 1985-86. On November 6, 1986, Sir Alex Ferguson took up as the manager of Manchester United. After a few initial disappointments from players, he came back with a bang when his team won the League Cup during 1991-92 and the Premier League in 1992-93. His team-building tactics, by bringing-in talent from other teams to the Red Devils’ squad showed remarkable results. Sir Alex Ferguson worked with talented players like Dwight Yorke, Ryan Giggs, Teddy Sheringham, Paul Scholes and Ole Gunnar Solskjær and won the memorable the FA Cup Final against Newcastle United (2-0) in 1998-99. In that season, the Red Devils’ squad also bagged the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup. Under the efficient coaching of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United won the Premier League (10 times), the FA Cup (5 times), the League Cup twice, the FA Charity/Community Shield (8 times), the UEFA Champions League twice, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup once each.

Sir Alex Ferguson was conferred the Laureus World Sports Award for Team of the Year (2000) and BBC Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.

The year 2007 was yet another successful year for the winning manager of the Manchester United FC, Sir Alex Ferguson, who went on to claim the World Soccer Magazine Coach of the Year, the Professional Footballers’ Association Merit Award and Onze D’Or Coach of the Year.

In 2008 Sir Alex Ferguson led Manchester United to his 10th Premier League championship and his second European title. The club from Manchester beat the club from London, Chelsea, in the UEFA Champions League final held in Moscow, to lift the most prestigious European trophy. It was speculated that Sir Ferguson will retire soon after this incredible success, but these rumors were soon put to rest when he vowed to stay on.

At the end of the 2008-09 United won the Premier League title for the third consecutive time, a feat that made Alex Ferguson the first manager in the history of the Premier League to win three titles in a row. The English football empire also added to its trophy case the 2009 Football League Cup. It won the Football League Cup again in 2010.

In 2011 Ferguson's team won the championship once again, against all odds and in convincing fashion. The 2011 championship was especially meaningful for the Scot manager and for the team's fans, as it allowed the club to move ahead of Liverpool on the all-time championship list, with 19 trophies, compared to the Reds' 18. For many, turning  Manchester United into the most successful English football club in history, has cemented Alex Ferguson's place in history, as the most successful football manager of his era.

Smsinspire's Words. WHAT IS FILLING YOUR LIFE!!

mastamedia.kbo.co.ke

A professor stood before his Philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and
proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open
areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from
under the table and poured the entire contents into
the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the
sand.
The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
“I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life”.
"The golf balls are the important things - your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full”.
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.
"The sand is everything else--the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,
"there is no roomfor the pebbles or the golf balls.
"The same goes for life.
"If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
“Play with your children.
"Take time to get medical checkups.
"Take your partner out to dinner.
"There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
"Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.
"Set your priorities.
"The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what
the coffee
represented.
The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.
"It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life

Forgotten keys......................

10 friends lived together on top of a 100-storied building. Once when they returned after an outing, they found, to their dismay that the lift was not working. Having no alternative, they decided to lighten the arduous climb by narrating a humorous story each. By the time it was the turn of the last person, they had almost reached the top floor. The tenth person said, "I am sorry, but my story is really tragic. Hearing it, will break your hearts to pieces. It’s only a one-line story though - i have forgotten the key downstairs!"

Right from our early childhood, it’s drilled into us that the way to becoming happy is to make it big in life. And accordingly, we roll back our sleeves and get down to work. Slowly, painfully we struggle up the ladder of material success. School, SSC, HSC, Engg/Medical, MBA/MS, Project Leader, Manager, Managing Director, CEO... The dream career growth chart. Assuming that one succeeds (a big assumption), what next?

Just take a look at the life of any of the supposedly successful people around you. Big money, big cars, big houses. And big enemies, big underworld dons, big tensions, big terrors! But wasn't happiness their goal when they started off? What went wrong?

This is a story which we all can relate to, isn't it?

Just as the ten friends forgot about the key while hearing anecdotes, the modern man also forgets the goal of happiness while working hard for achieving his goals. He gets so caught up in the struggle for success (or at least survival) that he forgets that he is not getting any happiness. And it goes on till the 100th floor: death. "I forgot the key to happiness. I foamed and fumed in vain." But by then, it’s too late.

Let’s look at our own lives. Till whatever rung we have climbed on "The ladder of success", have we become happy? No matter how much we achieve, happiness eludes us. "Its just one step away", but that's the way it always stays, no matter how many steps we take. But an intelligent person will think, "Just a minute, what am I running after?"

Think about your true well being. Get serious, before it gets too late
